  • F-Line (Field Line) - This line marks the real outer boundary of the field. Its points are fixed based on how far they are from the G-line. It plays a major role in defining the accurate layout of the field.  
  • Subdivision Lines - These lines divide a survey number into smaller parts. The extent of each section and the measurements must align, which helps keep the FMB sketch accurate.  
  • Extension Lines - These lines show the exact direction in which a field connects with neighbouring fields. This makes the FMB sketch more precise.   
  • Ladder: The ladder helps fix field line points by showing their distance and direction from the G-line. It tells whether the angle is on the left or right. When converted into digital data, it helps shape the sketch properly.

1. Visit the official Tamil Nadu Land Records e-Services portal.​ 

2. On the homepage, select the option labelled 'View Patta & FMB / Chitta / TSLR Extract'.​ 

3. Select your area type: 

  • For rural areas:​ 
    • Choose your District 
    • Specify Taluk and Village 
    • Enter the Survey Number and Sub-Division Number 
  • For urban areas:​ 
    • Choose your District 
    • Specify Town, Block, and Ward 
    • Enter the Survey Number and Sub-Division Number 

4. After entering the required details, click on the 'Submit' button. 

The system will display the FMB sketch corresponding to the provided details. You can view and download the document for your records.
