You can also avail of tax benefits on a Home Loan. You can claim deductions on both the principal and interest components under different Sections of the Income Tax Act, 1961. 

Section 80C allows you to claim up to Rs.1.5 Lakh per year on principal repayment, while Section 24(b) allows up to Rs.2 Lakh on interest payments for a self-occupied home.
