While both aim to achieve the goal of ‘Housing for All’, there are differences between the two in terms of target beneficiaries, implementation, and benefits.

Key Features of PMAY Gramin

  • Targets homeless families and those living in kutcha (non-permanent) houses in rural areas.
  • Focuses on socio-economically weaker households identified through the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC).

  • PMAY Urban:

    • Economically Weaker Section (EWS): Annual income up to Rs.3 Lakh.
